This simple script uses the page referrer to allow a user to send an email with a page link.
To use the script simply requires a link to the script URL.
<a href="http://www.unimelb.edu.au/cgi-bin/email-a-link.pl">Email this page to someone.</a>
Which ends up like this: Email this page to someone.
The resulting email looks like this:
This link has been sent to you by: <an.email@unimelb.edu.au> The link is: http://wiki.webcentre.unimelb.edu.au/doku.php/cgi/perl/email-a-link -- This email was generated by the University of Melbourne 'Email-a-Link' system
This script is useful in situations where you expect that the user may not have access to their normal email account. A page that might appear regularly on public access terminals is a good example.
Note that this script is not very sophisticated, it works, but the interface is poor and the script may be changed, removed or replaced as part of the Enhanced Webhosting Project.
