CSS for University Web Developers

A training session run by Web Services.

An introduction to the use of Cascading Style Sheets as they appear in the university templates, and how web developers can work with CSS to customise their pages and sites and maximise usability.

Parts of this training session borrow from information delivered at Russ Weakley's training session at CSS and JavaScript workshops - Foundations of the new web .

Preamble

Introduction

The aim of this training is to equip web developers at the University of Melbourne with an understanding of how CSS is employed in the new web templates and how to create custom CSS that doesn’t break the page.

Format

The training will be broken up into eight short segments of approximately 15 minutes each, involving some hands on exercises.

Prerequisites

Attendees should have a good understanding of html and be comfortable with writing html code. No prior CSS expertise is required.
